Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati – Transfer to Shillong
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, proceed to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya (approx. 3-4 hours). En route, stop at Umiam Lake for a scenic break. Check in to the hotel and enjoy an evening stroll at Police Bazaar. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 2: Shillong – Cherrapunji Excursion
After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji, one of the wettest places on Earth. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls, Mawsmai Cave, and Dainthlen Falls. Explore the surreal landscapes and return to Shillong in the evening. Overnight stay in Shillong.
Day 3: Shillong – Dawki – Mawlynnong – Cherrapunji
After breakfast, drive to Dawki and enjoy a boat ride on the crystal-clear Umngot River. Visit the Indo-Bangladesh border and proceed to Mawlynnong, Asia’s cleanest village. Explore the living root bridge and then continue your journey to Cherrapunji. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 4: Double Decker Root Bridge Trek
Gear up for an early morning guided trek to the famous Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Nongriat. It’s a challenging yet rewarding experience through dense forests, natural pools, and rustic tribal villages. Return to Cherrapunji and relax. Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
Day 5: Cherrapunji – Shillong – Guwahati Departure
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Guwahati via Shillong. If time permits, you may visit Shillong Peak or Elephant Falls en route. Proceed to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
