Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Guwahati – Transfer to Bhalukpong
Upon arrival at Guwahati Airport/Railway Station, begin your journey to Bhalukpong (approx. 5–6 hours). En route, enjoy views of the Brahmaputra River and Assam's countryside. Check-in at your hotel in Bhalukpong. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Bhalukpong – Dirang
After breakfast, drive to Dirang (approx. 6 hours), a quaint town in the West Kameng district. Visit Tipi Orchid Centre and admire the scenic Dirang Valley, Dirang Dzong, and hot water springs. Check-in and overnight stay at a hotel in Dirang.
Day 3: Dirang – Tawang via Sela Pass
Post breakfast, depart for Tawang (approx. 7–8 hours), crossing the snow-covered Sela Pass (13,700 ft) and visiting Jaswant Garh War Memorial en route. Enjoy stunning views of alpine lakes like Paradise Lake. Arrive in Tawang and check in to your hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 4: Tawang Local Sightseeing
Today, visit the famous Tawang Monastery, Urgelling Monastery (birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama), and the Tawang War Memorial. Optionally, explore craft centers and local markets. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 5: Tawang – Bomdila
After breakfast, head back toward Bomdila (approx. 7 hours). On arrival, visit the Bomdila Monastery and local Tibetan handicraft centers. Check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Bomdila.
Day 6: Bomdila – Guwahati Departure
Post breakfast, begin your return journey to Guwahati (approx. 9 hours). Arrive at the airport or railway station for your onward journey with unforgettable memories of Tawang.
